Derby Rugby Club Business Lunch launches with strong turnout and positive momentum.
Derby, 7 July saw Derby Rugby Football Club successfully launch the Derby Business Club this week, bringing together 31 businesses for an afternoon of networking, collaboration and business insight.
Delivered in partnership with club sponsor Essential Print Services, the event was expertly coordinated by Yvonne Gorman, setting the tone for what promises to become a valuable fixture in Derby’s business community.
Guests were welcomed with an open networking session over an exceptional light lunch, creating the perfect environment for new introductions, meaningful conversations and the chance to reconnect with familiar faces from across the local business landscape.
Following the networking session, Derby Rugby Football Club CEO Martyn Murney introduced the club’s vision for the Derby RFC Business lunch and its ambition to strengthen connections between local organisations while supporting the continued growth of the club.
A highlight of the afternoon was a live interview with guest speaker Jack Partington of Rhodes Wealth Management, led by Deputy RFC CEO Mike Carr. Jack shared his business journey, insights into wealth management and his approach to building long term client relationships, delivering an engaging and thoughtful discussion that resonated with attendees. The event concluded with a series of short elevator pitches from each business in attendance, giving everyone the opportunity to introduce themselves to the room. The format proved highly effective, sparking new conversations and creating opportunities for follow up meetings between businesses that hadn’t yet connected during the networking session.
